Bugs Sticks and Mantids

Founded in early 2008, Bugs, Sticks and Mantids is now a reputable business supplying excellent quality invertebrates all over the UK and Europe. Specialising in Praying Mantids, we also stock a wide range of stick insects, spiders, scorpions, unusual  bugs and more.

Having started as a hobby with a few Stick Insects and Praying Mantids we have grown substantially in a very short period. Now providing our own captive bred Mantids and only the best wild caught specimens from around the world. Since beginning we have sucessfully bred many species of Mantid including:

• Sphodromantis lineola
• Parasphendale affinis
• Phyllocrania paradoxa
• Hierodula membranacea
• Phyllovates chlorophaea
• Rhombodera basalis

Our current breeding projects include Deroplatys desiccata, Deroplatys trigonodera, Zoolea and Gongylus gongylodes.

We keep around 20 species of mantis and not all of these are on the website, not only are we a business, we are a breeder too. We keep back our breeding stock as it is very important to us to keep the species of this amazing insect in culture. However, if there is something you require that you can't see listed please feel free to contact us as we will happily trade with other breeders.

We now also keep a large range of captive bred spiders in stock and we are aiming to be breeding our own by the end of 2010, so far we have had a successful pairing of our Avic Versicolors and are now just waiting for the female to lay her sac.
